Open Source Software by E-Scribe

This page collects software written by me that is offered on an open source basis. It's a small thank-you, payment in kind for all the open source software I use in my business. Not all the code is beautiful, but it's all been useful.

I don't indicate below which of these are "active" and which aren't; most were one-offs, though some are also in daily use. A couple are adaptations of existing open source material, as noted.

Licensing terms for my software are generally either the MIT license, the GPL, or the LGPL. Licensing info is at the top of each source file in most cases.

• Unbeatable tic-tac-toe script I prepared as a test for a job application.
• Content extraction script for XO.com's obsolescent Site Builder web page creation tool
• CommentPuller class to extract comments from web pages
• ProgressBar class for use with CocoaDialog
• File server quota report generator. An old one-off for OS X Server 10.2, but adaptable. Useful if you have a situation where hard quotas aren't enforced for some reason. Generates overlimit reports sorted by username and by space consumption. Also leaves a text note in the user's directory informing them that they are over quota and by how much (and deletes any previous note if they are under quota.)

• Interactive Postfix mail queue cleaner

• Saskatoon, a coder's editor based on Smultron -- now inactive.

• System status applet for use with Growl

• The source to the tools formerly at toolbot.com is available for the asking.
• DB_Edit class -- dynamically generate and process database (table) editing forms. See comments in source file for implementation examples. This is a big one and there may be some loose ends. Please feel free to send feedback and questions.
